Zach Johnson starts the John Deere Classic with a 64 at age 50.

Johnson shot 7-under 64 in the first round at TPC Deere Run, leaving him one stroke off the lead. He made six birdies and an eagle, including a 45-foot putt from off the green on the par-5 17th.

Johnson skipped the U.S. Senior Open to make his 24th straight John Deere Classic start. He also said he will miss the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale after playing next week's Kaulig Companies Championship.
