Nick Dunlap carded a bogey-free 8-under 63 in Thursday's opening round at Black Desert Resort, marking his lowest score since the 2024 Texas Children's Houston Open. The two-time PGA Tour winner hit all 14 fairways and rolled in more than 100 feet of putts to sit one shot behind leader Zach Bauchou.

Dunlap has struggled significantly with his driving this season, ranking dead last among PGA Tour players in Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee for the second consecutive year. He has lost more than one shot per round on average with his driving.

The 22-year-old made eight birdies including a highlight 39-foot putt on the par-3 third hole. He opened with consecutive pars before making three straight birdies, then added four more birdies on his back nine.

Dunlap currently sits 167th in FedExCup standings after making only eight cuts in 19 events this season. His status guarantees membership through 2027.
