Wyndham Clark expressed hope for supportive fans at the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club as he prepares to represent the United States team. The two-time major champion has faced questions about spectator treatment following incidents at recent tournaments where fans openly rooted against him.

Clark encountered hostile crowds during his victory at the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills in June, where fans rooted against him during the final round. Similar fan behavior followed Clark to the BMW Championship in August where spectators strongly supported Rory McIlroy over Clark on Sunday. After that tournament, Clark joked that if he did not receive support at the Presidents Cup as a USA team member, he might consider moving to Mexico.

During his pre-tournament press conference on Wednesday, Clark attributed some of the negative fan sentiment to media portrayal, stating that the media has made him out to be the villain. He reported that Chicago fans have treated him well during the early days at Medinah, describing the reception as all love since arriving for the Presidents Cup and praising USA fans as the best.
