Scheffler said blisters on his hands, feet and throat made gripping the club painful and forced him to reduce his practice and workouts. He considered withdrawing but played all four rounds.
After opening with a two-over 72, Scheffler played the final three rounds in nine under and tied for 12th. He said his condition was beginning to improve Sunday.
