Aki Iwai opens the Evian Championship with a bogey-free 63.

Iwai shot 8-under 63 at Evian Resort Golf Club to take a three-shot first-round lead in the LPGA major. It was the lowest opening round at the Evian Championship since Ayaka Furue in 2022.

Japan had three players in the top seven early, with Mao Saigo shooting 66 and Erika Hara posting 67. Haeran Ryu, the recent KPMG Women's PGA winner, also opened with 66.
