The R&A adds a fan code of conduct for The Open at Royal Birkdale.

The R&A introduced The Open Commitment ahead of the 2026 championship, setting expectations for spectators to respect players, other fans and the golf course. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to removal without a ticket refund.

Royal Birkdale is expected to host about 300,000 fans for the 154th Open after one million people applied for tickets, making it the highest-attended Open Championship.
