Rory McIlroy warns the PGA Tour not to weaken the Scottish Open.

McIlroy said the PGA Tour should protect national opens when its two-tier schedule starts in 2028. Under the planned structure, many Championship players would be unable to play the Scottish Open if it sits outside that tier.

The Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and DP World Tour and has 14 of the world's top 20 players in this week's field at The Renaissance Club.
