The Baycurrent Classic begins Thursday at Yokohama Country Club in Japan with defending champion Xander Schauffele leading a field that includes 15 of the world's top 50 players. World No. 5 Wyndham Clark holds the highest ranking among competitors in the $8 million tournament.
Thirteen players from the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah will compete, including eight International Team members and five U.S. Team members. Notable participants include Collin Morikawa, who won the event in 2023, Jacob Bridgeman, who secured two Tour wins this year, and Min Woo Lee.
The tournament serves as the third of eight FedExCup Fall events offering crucial opportunities for players to secure top-100 status and PGA Tour exemption for 2027. Players finishing 51st through 60th will earn spots in signature events including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational.
Yokohama Country Club features a unique routing combining 16 holes from the West Course and two holes from the East Course. The par-71 layout stretches 7,322 yards and was remodeled by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw in 2015. Weather conditions will remain mild with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s throughout the week.
