Former professional tennis player Jack Sock revealed he chose to compete in the 2017 Paris Masters final rather than play Augusta National, missing a planned trip with fellow tennis pro John Isner. Sock was scheduled to visit the famous course with Isner, whose father-in-law Mark McKinley is a member there.
The conflict arose when both players reached the semifinals of the Paris tournament, with Sock advancing to the final while Isner lost his semifinal match. Isner proceeded to Augusta and sent pictures from the course while Sock remained in Paris to play the championship match.
Sock ultimately won the tournament, which became the biggest singles victory of his career. The retired two-time Olympic medalist and four-time grand slam champion said he was glad the tennis side worked out but hopes to receive an invitation to Augusta National in the future.
