Patrick Cantlay expressed approval for President Donald Trump's expected attendance at the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club this weekend. Speaking to media Wednesday ahead of the biennial tournament, Cantlay said he thinks it would be great to have the President watch and hopes his presence energizes the crowd.

Cantlay believes Trump's attendance will enhance the home team atmosphere for the United States squad, expecting loud and supportive fans throughout the week. Trump has become a regular presence at major golf events, having attended the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black and the Irish Open at his Doonbeg complex two weeks ago.

Other U.S. team members have similarly welcomed Trump's planned visit. Xander Schauffele called it awesome that the President loves golf and supports Team USA, while Sam Burns expressed respect for the presidential position and noted he has played golf with Trump several times. Chris Gotterup said it would be cool to have any President care enough to watch them compete against the International team.
