Geoff Ogilvy leaves Jason Day off the Presidents Cup team because of his back injury.

Ogilvy decided Day was not certain to withstand four days of matches at Medinah Country Club after the injury affected much of his 2026 season.

Day withdrew before the 3M Open and Rocket Classic and missed the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the first time in 18 years. Ogilvy also wanted to avoid using the event's injury-envelope rule.
