Penge and Hillier were 11 under after five holes of the third round when darkness stopped play at The Belfry. Tom McKibbin was one stroke behind after six holes.
Play will resume at 7 a.m. Sunday after storms cost the tournament more than nine hours across Thursday and Friday.
