Schauffele shot a final-round 65 and finished two strokes behind Michael Thorbjornsen at the Rocket Classic. He briefly shared the lead after playing the front nine in four under.
Schauffele said he played well with a freer swing but credited Thorbjornsen for beating him. His previous best finish this season was third at The Players Championship.
