Tyler Rucarean's group proposes a $4 million purchase and renovation of Ironwood Golf Course.

The group plans to match an existing $1.1 million bid for Gainesville's municipal course and invest more than $4 million in its purchase and renovation. Ironwood lost more than $300,000 last year.

Former Florida golfer Tyler Rucarean leads the proposal with his brother Trace, attorney Ben Chase and business owner Nick Gallo. The group wants to preserve Ironwood as a community course serving golfers of different ages and abilities.
