Stenson closed his opening Open round with a birdie to finish two under. He said he can play PGA Tour-sanctioned events from August 25 after his one-year suspension expires.
The 50-year-old expects to play five to seven PGA Tour Champions events late this season and plans a more regular schedule in 2027.
