The R&A reconsiders local distance limits for elite golf.

R&A chief executive Mark Darbon said golf's governing bodies are again considering Model Local Rules to restrict distance at the highest level. The review follows discussions with the PGA Tour, DP World Tour and players.

The approach could replace or modify the universal golf-ball rollback scheduled for 2030. The R&A and USGA previously proposed separate elite-level limits in 2023 before choosing rules that would apply to all golfers.
