Elvis Smylie withdraws from The Open with a rib injury.

Elvis Smylie pulled out of The Open at Royal Birkdale and all upcoming events after medical advice to take an extended break for rib rehabilitation. The Australian said he chose rest to avoid making the injury worse.

Smylie, 24, has played The Open twice and missed the cut in 2024 and 2025. He is ninth in LIV Golf's individual standings after a win in Riyadh and a T8 finish in Hong Kong.
