Chris Gotterup moves into John Deere Classic contention with a Friday 68.

Gotterup followed an opening 66 with a 3-under 68 at TPC Deere Run, putting him in contention at the midway point in hot conditions in Silvis, Illinois. He entered as the highest-ranked player in the field.

Gotterup came into the week ranked 14th in the world and 10th in the FedExCup standings. He has already won this year at the Sony Open in Hawaii and the WM Phoenix Open.
