Kawonu Golf Club starts grassing ahead of a planned 2027 opening.

Kawonu Golf Club, a private golf-only club on more than 290 acres outside Greenville, South Carolina, has started grassing its championship course and unveiled its clubhouse complex ahead of a planned spring 2027 opening.

Since breaking ground in April 2025, crews have completed much of the heavy construction. Shaping and irrigation are largely finished, and grassing has moved from greens and tees toward fairways.
